2025: what should we wish for? First, clarity—the ability to recognize our limits and the finite nature of our precious resources. Then, determination—to preserve them and take decisive action. And finally, reason —to align our company’s purpose with an economic model that considers nature as a valuable asset. We closed 2024 by dreaming reality into being. In 2025, we continue taking action toward a more thoughtful use of materials, favoring reuse in our Atelier. We embrace narrative codes shaped by remarkable brands and artists, who guide societal transformation through beauty. Together, we must “multiply the opportunities for regenerative ideas to emerge and become guiding beacons in the night.” In 2025, let’s regenerate Life—and our ideas.
Data is off track
According to The Business of Fashion McKinsey Annual Report, in 2023, unsold inventory amounted to between 2.5 and 5 billion units, representing an estimated business volume of $70 to $140 billion —this despite a 5-percentage-point increase in discounts during annual sales.
These promotions, now a constant fixture, harm collections without attracting more consumers. The industry struggles to address volume issues and make circularity the norm. Let’s show the way to revalorization, for the health and sustainability of the industry’s own economy.

The circular solution of this edition: Make way for wonders
With Olivier Lapidus
Experience our excellence in action
L’Atelier des Matières showcased its work at the Places d’Or design and luxury fair. The “Lounge Bar” collection was born from a collaboration with CAA by Olivier Lapidus, the renowned designer, and Atelier Dacryl.
A prestigious luxury design firm, CAA partnered with Olivier Lapidus to create “Lounge Bar”, an exclusive furniture line that seamlessly blends comfort and elegance. In this project, our dormant materials were brought back to life through the skilled hands of renowned French artisans.
These pieces were designed for prestigious hospitality and fine dining spaces, embodying a unique fusion of innovation, design, and sustainability. The result? A collection of exceptional furniture, entirely crafted in France.

About the furniture co-created by L’Atelier des Matières and DACRYL, designed by CAA for Les Places d’Or
Every detail of this lounge bar reflects a desire to enhance light, creating rhythms and interplays of space—particularly in the Dun armchair, whose metal legs are inspired by the streamlined ergonomics of archery bows and racing bicycles. Much like in La Jalousie by Alain Robbe-Grillet, the shadows shift with the lighting , weaving through the cushions to create a delicate interplay of openings and transparencies—an homage to haute couture and the ateliers whose craftsmanship resonates in every element.

Unveiling the wonders created by Loann Djian and Clara Daguin
A creative and circular approach that pushes the boundaries of design while respecting our planet
This is how we define our collaboration in the Chanel Fashion Hackathon 2024, a celebration of circularity. Designers Clara Daguin and Loann Djian elevated dormant materials to craft unique and responsible trophies, embodying the perfect balance of innovation, craftsmanship and sustainability.
For the second consecutive year, visionary creator Clara Daguin reinvented the Grand Prix trophies using dormant leathers. She reinterpreted the iconic motif of our client through intricate light effects, unveiling a singular aesthetic where craftsmanship and technology seamlessly intertwine.
Leather designer Loann Djian crafted the Coup de Cœur trophies. Each piece, composed of chains sourced from unsold leather goods and camellias sculpted from dormant leathers, reflects meticulous expertise and a bold vision of circular design.

Expandin the circle: those who inspire us
A conversation with Olivier Lapidus, renowned French designer & innovator
Could you tell us about the origins of your collaboration with CAA and L’Atelier des Matières?
‘Very often, encounters are essential in my field, that of design and craftsmanship, with a touch of innovation when possible. When I met the ‘dream team’ of L’Atelier des Matières, the connection was made instantly, thanks to our shared professional DNA and the values we share highlighting craftsmanship through innovation, specifically the marriage of recycling and fashion textiles into furniture and décor.”.
